1. Intellectual Property and Methodology
MapHorizon provides professional geospatial, environmental, ESG, and risk intelligence services. In delivering these services, MapHorizon applies proprietary analytical expertise, methodologies, and technical workflows developed independently and maintained as part of its core business.
Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, all pre-existing intellectual property used by MapHorizon in the provision of its services remains the exclusive intellectual property of MapHorizon.
This includes, without limitation:
-

No ownership in these materials is transferred to clients as a result of any engagement.
2. Client Deliverables
Client deliverables are bespoke outputs prepared specifically for a client under an agreed scope of work. These may include maps, reports, dashboards, datasets, visualisations, and written assessments.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
-
Clients are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use deliverables for their internal business, sustainability, reporting, compliance, and decision-making purposes
-
Deliverables may be retained for audit, assurance, and regulatory disclosure purposes
-
Deliverables may not be resold, sublicensed, or reused for third-party services
Underlying methodologies, analytical logic, workflows, templates, software, and platforms used to create deliverables are not transferred.
3. Third-Party Data and Licensing
MapHorizon analyses may incorporate third-party datasets, imagery, or reference materials sourced from open, governmental, commercial, or client-provided data providers.
Use of such data is governed by the applicable third-party licence terms. Ownership of third-party data does not transfer to MapHorizon or to clients, and client use of deliverables remains subject to any upstream licensing requirements.
Where required, appropriate attribution is provided.
4. Data Protection and Confidentiality
Intellectual property rights are separate from data protection responsibilities.
Where MapHorizon processes personal data on behalf of a client as part of a professional services engagement, the client acts as Data Controller and MapHorizon acts as Data Processor, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Personal data is processed only in accordance with documented client instructions and applicable data protection law.
Confidential information and client-provided data are handled in accordance with contractual obligations and applicable data protection requirements.
5. No Endorsement or Determination
All analyses and outputs produced by MapHorizon are intended to support screening, prioritisation, and informed decision-making. They do not constitute legal advice, regulatory determinations, certifications, or guarantees of compliance.
Outputs are produced using best-available data and methodologies at the time of analysis and may be subject to uncertainty, data gaps, or subsequent change. MapHorizon does not warrant the completeness or accuracy of third-party data sources. Clients remain responsible for independent verification where required and for decisions taken based on deliverables.
Use of MapHorizon deliverables does not imply endorsement by any data provider, regulator, or third party.
6. Limitations of Use
Deliverables are prepared solely for the benefit of the commissioning client and agreed purposes. No responsibility is accepted to any third party who may access or rely upon the deliverables without MapHorizon’s prior written consent.
7. Reservation of Rights
Except as expressly stated, no licence or right is granted under this page. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
